WELCOME!

Hello!

Night and Mr Knightley

Latest novel: Night and Mr Knightley

My name is Jeanette Sears and I am a freelance writer and speaker.  As you look at this website you will be able to read more about my work.  It’s great to be able to share a mix of both fiction and non-fiction and I hope you will enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them.  I will also share news about my speaking events that may interest you, plus there are blog posts, past and present, to read and share with others.

Here is the blurb for my new novel Night and Mr Knightley:

‘It’s Halloween, and Emma-Jane Austin is at a masked ball and auction at the elegant Highfield Hall organised by Nottingham Knights, the upmarket dating agency. Instead of studying Jane Austen’s ‘Emma’ for her reading group, E-J is bidding for the hunk in a black mask who could just be her Knight for the night! But when a wealthy young businessman is found dead in the grounds of the country house, Emma-Jane must now find a wise and true knight to disentangle her from the nightmare.’

Enjoy!

Jeanette

  1. I’ve spent a happy time browsing this attractive and comprehensive website and enjoying the photos. I know I’m one of many people much looking forward to further novels!

  2. Dear Jeanette,
Do you remember when we met in Oxford in 2010? I told you that you were born to be a writer. Congratulations on your success. Merry Christmas. Love, Kate Brian and Samuel (California, USA)

  3. Murder and Mr. Rochester was thoroughly absorbing and suspenseful—I loved it, and hope to spend more time inside the world you have created with these characters! The dénouement was chilling, rather terrifying there for a few moments. I don’t want to give anything away, but I hope it’s not a spoiler if I say I was yelling in my mind, “Run! Run!”

(No relation to the author at all; just a delightful coincidence!)

  4. Hello Jeanette – my husband and I attended your excellent and stimulating talk on Dorothy L Sayers today. Thank you so much. We both felt inspired to re-read the works we know and to explore the many that we haven’t yet read. Yours, Heather and George Coombs

  5. Jeanette, I remember with gratitude your lectures at Trinity. Just started using your notes on Jeremiah from Reflections for Daily Prayer…..really useful. Thanks Robert
